Glen Ullinish
The development is located off the A863, near Struan, on north-west Skye. This project has consent for 11 turbines, with a mix of maximum tip heights, up to 149.9 m.
Since the submission of this application, Muirhall Energy has submitted proposals for an expanded and re-designed project, Glen Ullinish II Wind Farm. If consent is granted, this will replace the already consented Glen Ullinish Wind Farm and would further maximise the project’s contribution to Scotland’s climate change targets. This will also deliver a far greater community investment fund for the people of Skye to invest in local priorities.

The Initial Investment Fund (IIF) opens to applications from community groups as soon as construction begins. The IIF of £55,000 for Glen Ullinish is to be distributed to community projects around the wind farm.
Community Investment Fund
Once the site is operational, the Community Investment Fund is launched to further support communities throughout the lifetime of the project. For Glen Ullinish, an industry-leading £7,000 per MW is being offered, which equates to an annual fund of nearly £349,000, and approximately £13 million over the lifetime of the windfarm.
Shared Ownership
Muirhall Energy is also offering up to 10% ownership of the proposed development to the surrounding communities, which if secured, would result in a substantial increase in community revenue available for local investment.
Community Involvement
Muirhall Energy has already supported local community groups and initiatives including 'Light Up Portree' campaign in 2019, Radio Skye and Carbost Community Shop,
