Hopsrig
The proposed Hopsrig Wind Farm is located off the B709, approximately 7.5 km northwest of Langholm and 15 km northeast of Lockerbie in Dumfries & Galloway on an area of existing commercial forestry plantation.
This proposal has been revised, Additional Information was submitted to the Energy Consents Unit, reflecting a new 12 turbine layout, with a maximum tip height of 200 m giving a total installed capacity of approximately 79.2 MW. This layout reflects the comments received on landscape where one turbine has been removed and a further 3 have been relocated to set them back from the Esk Valley landscape.

Commitment to Communities
If built, Hopsrig Wind Farm will offer an industry-leading community investment rate of £7,000 annually per megawatt of installed wind capacity. That figure would return approximately £553,000 per year to communities surrounding the wind farm.
Shared Ownership
In addition to these community investment funds, Muirhall Energy will offer up to 10% community shared ownership in Hopsrig Wind Farm. Conversations have already taken place with communities around the proposed development and the dialogue will continue as the project progresses.
Should Hopsrig wind farm be consented, an Initial Investment fund (IIF) would be set up to support communities when construction begins
Our commitment to the local communities continues with the revised Hopsrig scheme where shared ownership will once again be offered.
