The first foundations for the fifteen turbine (30MW) Tormywheel development in West Lothian have been poured.

In addition to the foundations, civil contractor A.E Yates have been laying down the access tracks across the development site since April.

Kenny Christie, Muirhall Energy Construction Manager, said:

“Works are currently on schedule, with the bulk of the site roads now in place. The weather has been with us so far and 4 of 15 turbine bases are now cast. Substation works are underway and we are very pleased with our contractor A.E Yates’ progress to date.”

The fifteen Senvion MM92 2.05MW turbines are expected to be delivered and erected from November 2016; with operation due to begin in early 2017.

The site, which was acquired by Muirhall Energy and WWS Renewables in 2015, is expected to supply over 24,000 homes once operational.
