The Development

Muirhall Energy acquired Melin Court wind farm from Infinis in 2017. An application for planning permission for Melin Court wind farm was submitted to Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council in September 2014.  The proposed site is located within the Neath Valley, approximately 2km south east of Resolven.

The wind farm would comprise five wind turbines up to 145m in height (to blade tip) and site infrastructure including roads, a temporary construction compound, an electrical substation building and a permanent wind monitoring mast.

The previous developer submitted an Environmental Statement as part of the planning application for the Melin Court wind farm proposal and worked with experts in a variety of fields, including ecology, ornithology, noise, transport, cultural heritage and landscape and visual impact assessment, to ensure that all possible effects of the proposed wind farm will be taken into consideration. A copy of the Non-Technical Summary of the Environmental Statement can be accessed below.  The full set of planning documents can be viewed on Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council’s website under reference number P2014/0883.

Public exhibitions were held in November 2013 and March 2014. The panels displayed at the most recent exhibition can be accessed in the links above.
