Muirhall Energy has taken over four wind farms at various stages of development from AES UK and Ireland for an undisclosed sum.
The South Lanarkshire developer will move towards construction in the short term at the 34MW Tormywheel in Scotland’s central belt. It will also progress development at the eight-turbine Greengairs East and nine-unit Priestgill projects. The fourth as yet unidentified asset is at a much earlier stage.
Muirhall Managing Director Chris Walker, said:
“We are delighted to make the successful acquisition of four developments from the AES wind portfolio, in partnership with WWS Renewables. This reaffirms our commitment to onshore wind in Scotland in what are challenging times for the industry.
We look forward to bringing these projects through development to operational wind farms in the next few years, and aiding Scotland in reaching it’s renewable energy targets.”
