Muirhall Energy were delighted to donate £10,000 to each of the Fauldhouse Community Development Trust and West Lothian Development Trust, as works commence on the Tormywheel Wind Farm development, 2km south of Fauldhouse in West Lothian.
Mike Molleson, Project Manager for Tormywheel said:
“We are very pleased to be able to demonstrate our commitment to the local area through these good will payments. Although the wind farm won’t be operational until 2017, we wholly recognise that the most significant impact on the local communities will be now, as construction of the wind farm takes place.”
“We look forward to creating strong and lasting relationships with the local development trusts and organisations, who will reap the benefits of the Tormywheel Wind Farm.”
Muirhall will provide a total community benefit fund of £150,000 per year, index linked, for the lifetime of the project. So far, £100,000 worth of funds have been allocated and split between the West Lothian Development Trust; Fauldhouse Community Development Trust; The Levenseat Trust; and the Wooldfords, Auchengray, Tarbrax Improvement Foundation (WAT IF?).
A further £50,000 per annum is to be allocated following community feedback.
