Muirhall Energy in conjunction with its development partner Community Windpower, the developers of Girthgate Wind Farm have now submitted an addendum to add further information to the Environmental Statement.
The developers have liaised closely with all the consultees providing feedback, to ensure that the submitted addendum covers all the issues raised. As part of the addendum process, further consultation was held between the developers, the community, Scottish Natural Heritage(SNH) and Scottish Borders Council (SBC).
SBC requested that the developers consider revising the layout of the proposed development, to create a more visually sympathetic site that was further in keeping with the surrounding development.
Following these discussions, the developers have reduced the original 25 turbine scheme to a 24 turbine scheme. Three turbines have also been reduced in height from 132m to tip to 125m and four have been relocated to reduce the impact of the development from the Lauder Common.
