Muirhall Energy presented a cheque for £18647.21 to the WATIF, a local community group based near Muirhall Energy’s own wind farm.

Managing Director, Chris Walker said:

“Muirhall Energy is empowering local communities by providing financial support to help them meet their ambitions. Renewable energy developments create a positive green legacy for future generations and he the power to unlock funding to contribute towards local economic growth and sustainability.”

He added:

“Developing a strong local supply chain is part of our approach. In planning and constructing Muirhall Windfarm and the new extension we have been able to award more than £5million of contracts to companies close to the wind farm and throughout South Lanarkshire. It’s a key part of how we do and will continue to operate our business.”

Pat Mavor from WATIF said:

“WAT IF held its Winter Gathering at Auchengray Village Hall on Monday 18 November where the audience were updated on the progress of projects identified in the Community Action Plan. Cupcakes and tea were enjoyed by all following the presentation by Chris Walker of Muirhall Wind Farm Extension to the Charity of a £18,647.21 cheque.

This represents the recent instalment of the community benefit payments agreed between WAT IF and Muirhall Wind Farm Extension. WAT IF already have plans for investment in the coming year including supporting local groups, paths and heritage routes and bringing Woolfords Hall back into use.”
